MALVERN, PA — January 8, 2015 — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced the launch of six small, ultra-thin, surface mount SMF (DO-219AB) eSMP® packages New rectifier. AEC-Q101 certified, these devices feature forward currents of 1A and 2A with low forward voltage drop and leakage current, reducing power loss and increasing efficiency in automotive applications.
Today's devices include a standard rectifier, three Schottky barrier rectifiers and two ultra-fast FRED Pt rectifiers for use in automotive systems such as engine control units (ECUs), anti-lock braking systems (ABS) and Led Lighting. High frequency DC/DC converters, freewheeling diodes, and power line polarity protection applications.
The SMF packages of these devices are small, ultra-thin, and offer significant board space savings over standard SMA, SMB, and SMC packages while increasing power density and overall cost.
The reverse voltages of the SS1F4HM3, SS1FH6HM3, and SS2FH6HM3 Schottky rectifiers are 40V and 60V, and the forward voltage is reduced to 0.37V at 1A and 125°C. In addition, the SE10FJHM3 standard rectifier is fabricated using metal oxide planar chip technology and achieves H3B level according to AEC-Q101-001 human body model (contact mode) ESD protection.
The ultra-fast VS-1EFH02HM3 and VS-2EFH02HM3 FRED Pt rectifiers feature extremely fast recovery and soft recovery with a recovery time of only 28ns. The device's breakdown voltage is 200V, and the forward voltage at 1.0A current is reduced to 0.93V. The rectifier uses a planar structure that is platinum-doped to increase service life, ensuring high overall performance, durability and reliability.
These rectifiers are available today in SMF packages. Most devices have a maximum operating junction temperature of +175°C, MSL moisture sensitivity levels up to J-STD-020, and LF peaks at 260°C. The device is ideal for automatic surface mount, RoHS compliant 2011/65/EU, halogen-free according to JEDEC JS709A, and tested by JESD 201 class 2 tin whisker.
Samples are now available for the new rectifiers and are in volume production with a lead time of ten weeks.
