TI's latest CC3000 module quickly launches Wi-Fi-enabled IoT application development

On June 13, 2013, Beijing News recently, Texas Instruments (TI) announced the launch of SimpleLink ™ Wi-Fi® CC3000 BoosterPack to help professional engineers, amateurs, and college students quickly start Wi-Fi-enabled Internet of Things (IoT) applications Development.

The new Wi-Fi BoosterPack is powered by TI ’s SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3000 module, which provides simplified Wi-Fi connectivity for microcontroller-based (MCU) -based systems. The CC3000 BoosterPack (CC3000BOOST) can be used with MSP430 ™ and TIva ™ C series MCU LaunchPad evaluation kits to quickly start development for various MCU-based home automation, health and fitness, and machine-to-machine (M2M) applications. Because the latest BoosterPack is based on the TI SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3000 module, it has the following advantages: shorter development time, lower production cost, smaller board space, easier certification process, and minimized RF professional Knowledge needs. The latest SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3000 BoosterPack uses TI's unique SmartConfig â„¢ technology to enable one-step activation of multiple home-less peripheral devices, allowing it to quickly connect to Wi-Fi networks.

Availability

SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3000 BoosterPack (CC3000BOOST) is now available and can be ordered through TI eStore and TI authorized distributors. Also supplied with the CC3000 evaluation module (CC3000EM) for other TI MCU EVMs such as the MSP-EXP430FR5739 FRAM experiment board, which can be ordered through TI.

In addition, CC3000 BoosterPack has also been bundled with the MSP430 LaunchPad evaluation kit and will soon be bundled with the Tiva C Series LaunchPad evaluation kit, which can be ordered through TI eStore.
