Recently, Texas Instruments (TI) announced the launch of a high-power multi-topology DC / DC LED driver that supports adjustable switching frequency and current sensing threshold, which provides high design flexibility for automotive headlights, fog lights and general lighting With low electromagnetic interference (EMI). The TPS92690 is an N-channel MOSFET controller with low-side current sensing that supports boost or buck-boost (SEPIC, Cuk, flyback) LED driver topologies. The TPS92690 DC / DC LED controller includes various features that provide designers with a high degree of flexibility in optimizing the system. For example, the adjustable switching frequency (up to 2 MHz) and current sensing threshold can help designers optimize LED driver electronics for small size, high efficiency, or a balance of the two. Independent pulse width modulation (PWM) and analog input combined with general dimming control method can adjust LED current or perform heat return. The internal oscillator can set the converter switching frequency, but it can also be overdriven by an external clock to synchronize the switching frequency with other converters in the design. Low-side current sensing not only enables the design of low-EMI topologies such as Cuk converters, but also maintains the single-wire connection of LED loads.
TPS92690 belongs to TI's extensive LED driver product line, which includes LM3466, LM3409 and LM3421 / 3/4 DC / DC LED drivers.

· Provided in automotive or commercial-grade applications that meet the AEC-Q100 standard;
The input voltage range of 4.5V to 75.0V is suitable for boost, SEPIC, Cuk and flyback topologies in various LED applications;
· Low-side adjustable current sensing (50mV to 500mV) not only minimizes power loss, but also supports analog dimming control;
· Undervoltage lockout (UVLO), LED overvoltage, cycle-by-cycle current limit, and thermal shutdown prevent malfunctions and abnormal operating conditions.
