A control method for realizing the dynamic lighting effect of building facade

I. Overview

Chongqing World Trade Center is located in the Jiefangbei area of ​​Chongqing, with a total area of ​​62 floors and a height of 262 m. It is currently the tallest building in the western region and is a landmark building in the main city of Chongqing. The LED illuminating project of the building facade built at the end of 2010 can provide a reference for the façade lighting control of similar buildings.

The dynamic lighting effect of the World Trade Center is to use the building facade window platform as the light carrier, and use the digital lighting to wash the wall of the 0.3 m high wall between the lamp installation platform and the window platform. In conjunction with the lighting control system, the natural white temperature LED lamps are controlled to perform grayscale and pixel changes, and an artistic ink painting is displayed, such as the layered mountains and the Zhengbanqiao bamboo maps of the ancient ink. Engineering features: low cost, low energy consumption, can achieve highly artistic dynamic effects.

1 lamp selection, 16 pixel segment, digital lighting dynamic lighting function

According to the characteristics of the light carrier, as in this case, the light carrier is a 0.3 m high building facade, which illuminates the facade with the surface as a pixel. Taking into account the distance of the observer and the ability of the visual resolution, the light output angle of the luminaire is selected to be 30°, and the luminaire per meter is divided into 16 segments to control, and the secondary signal can be connected.

2 Planning and design of lighting control system

To achieve the effect of the target, the gray dynamic image, taking into account the dynamic characteristics, the serial shift electronic circuit is used to form the luminaire and the control system. Based on the maintainability, the luminaire and the sub-control system are layered according to the carrier floor.

3 normalized image processing

The purpose of normalization is to obtain the target figure. According to the actual lighting on the building surface, determine the number of rows and columns, such as floors, lamps on each floor, 80 lamps per row, 16 pixels per lamp, and a total of 55 layers of lamps. This pixel is overlapped with the design effect file image to generate a new image whose resolution is the actual fixture composition resolution. The above processing is done in image processing software such as Photoshop, Flash, and the like.

4 dynamic effect image synthesis

The normalized image is a combination of virtual and real images. It really refers to the specific LED light position. Virtual is the wall of the unspaced physical space. When synthesizing, compression is performed, and the virtual part is extracted, and the solid part is spliced ​​into Photoshop, Flash, and the deformed image corresponding to the entity.

5 LED digital luminaire engineering address mapping table

The graphic change with respect to the rule, that is, the normalized graphic, can correspond to the specific lamp position one by one, without using the lamp engineering address mapping table. Special graphics and lamp positions cannot be directly mapped. You need to use the address mapping table to manually align the coordinates of the fixture with the coordinates of the graphics you want to play. Completed in the Excel table, the resulting form is called by dedicated software.

6 dedicated multimedia playback and mapping

The synthesized image is played by the multimedia software of the PC, and the screen capture data is acquired by the dedicated software during playback, and output to the position specified by the light controller. When the screen is screened, the dedicated software will aggregate, the address mapping table data or the shift map.

7 lighting controller, transfer, refresh the light display data

The special lighting controller divides the video signal output by the computer into the port according to the lamp, block and branch, and changes the signal of each port to the signal shifting format. The combination of multiple lamps can restore the predetermined image.
