Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has recently introduced its T16 series of liquid tantalum capacitors, featuring glass-to-tantalum sealing strips. These capacitors are now available with four different outline codes—A, B, C, and D—making them ideal for high-reliability applications in aerospace and defense systems. Designed to withstand extreme conditions, the T16 series offers superior vibration resistance, with a sinusoidal vibration rating of 50g and a random vibration rating of 27.7g, ensuring reliable performance in demanding environments.
The T16 series builds upon the strengths of Vishay’s SuperTan™ family, offering key features such as a reverse voltage rating of 1.5V at +85°C, 300 thermal shock cycles, and excellent mechanical durability. These liquid tantalum capacitors are well-suited for critical functions like timing, filtering, energy storage, and pulse power applications in aerospace power systems.
Available in a wide range of voltages (25V to 125V) and capacitances (10μF to 680μF), the T16 series provides standard tolerances of ±10% and ±20% at 120Hz and +25°C. The capacitors can operate over an extended temperature range from -55°C to +85°C, with a maximum operating temperature of +125°C. Additionally, they feature a low ESR of 0.70Ω at 120Hz and +25°C, making them highly efficient in high-frequency applications.
