Currently, the series of processors use 55nm and 40nm advanced processes for design and production. The Spansion Traveo family of processors features a high-performance ARM Cortex R5F architecture for greater processing power and more efficient Flash memory cells. In order to meet more efficient internal communication, the series of processors has added communication interfaces such as CAN-FD (vehicle network communication) and HyperBus (bus communication). Spansion believes that the MCU products for electric vehicles must take into account the characteristics of electric vehicles. For example, the control unit of an electric vehicle drive motor generally requires an external rotary decoder (RDC) to accurately grasp the operating state of the drive motor.
