LED lighting appliances, because of their superior characteristics compared with traditional light source lighting appliances, since the entry into the field of lighting, especially in the context of the current global "energy saving and emission reduction", the application range is accelerating. Accordingly, manufacturers and users are also more eager to understand the product quality standard specifications for LED lighting appliances. This article is based on this, to make a general introduction to the detection and certification of LED lighting appliances. The focus of the presentation will be on the safety requirements of LED luminaires within the scope of CCC certification.
Important terms and basic concepts in LED lighting appliances
LED (Light Emitting Diode): A pn ​​junction semiconductor device that emits incoherent light radiation when forward biased.
LED Module: A component formed by integrating one or more LEDs on a printed circuit board, possibly with optical components, thermal components, mechanical components, and electrical interfaces, but without power and standard lamp caps.
LED lamp: component with LED module and standard lamp head, divided into integral type (with LED driver ) and non-integral (without LED driver )
LED light source: LED, LED module and LED light are collectively referred to as LED light source.
LED connector: A miscellaneous built-in connector for use with printed circuit boards based on LED modules.
LED driver: A device that contains a Power Supply and LED control circuitry to operate the LED source.
LED luminaire: An appliance that distributes, illuminates, or converts the light from an LED source, including all the components necessary to support, secure, and protect the LED source (but not the LED source itself), as well as the necessary circuit aids and A device that is connected to a power source.
Existing LED lighting electrical standards
The LED lighting appliance standard is based on the principle of separation of safety, performance and electromagnetic compatibility, and is classified by product category. Tables 1 and 2 below are the standards that we should refer to or follow when testing and certifying LED lighting appliances:
