Internet of Things Interpretation and Four Types of Deployment

IoT and cloud computing are comparable in many aspects. For example, cloud computing has three layers of SPI (SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS), and Internet of Things also has DCM (ie, sensing, transport, and application layers). Three layers. NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) in the United States divides the cloud computing deployment model into shared cloud, private cloud, community cloud, and hybrid cloud. The existence of the Internet of Things is divided into intranet, private network, and extranet; Computing also divides the IoT deployment model into Public IoT, Private IoT, Community IoT, and Hybrid IoT.

Based on the thinking of NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), this article proposes a definition of the Internet of Things and a specification for the architecture of the Internet of Things. Public IoT: Providing services to the public or large user groups based on the Internet, and is generally operated by an organization (or a third party entrusted by it).

Community IoT: To provide services to an associated “community” or community (eg, a city government subordinate bureau, such as public security bureau, transportation bureau, environmental protection bureau, urban management bureau, etc.). It may be coordinated by two or more organizations, mainly in the intranet and private network (Extranet/VPN).

Hybrid IoT: It is a combination of two or more of the above-mentioned Internet of Things, but there is a unified operation and maintenance entity at the back end.
