February 2 news, according to technology website CNET reported that new evidence shows that Apple is planning to launch TV products. According to foreign media reports, Apple is in contact with TV display device manufacturers and purchase components for product manufacturing. Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster said in a report that Apple is in contact with TV display component suppliers and discusses with them the performance of various components of Apple TV. Apple has begun to invest in production panels ranging in size from 3.5 inches to 55 inches. According to Asian suppliers, the prototype of Apple TV has been developed and Apple may release television products by the end of this year.
Munster also pointed out that although hardware development can be completed quickly, Apple’s progress on TV content is still unclear. “If we don’t have a brand new solution for TV content, we don’t think Apple will force entry into the TV marketâ€. Therefore, Apple must be exploring ways of presenting television content, and this solution may be unprecedented for people.
Munster put forward three possible solutions that Apple may adopt. One is to directly provide ordinary TV content, the other is to provide web-based video services, and the third is to provide monthly subscription services.
Apple declined to comment.
