AMOLED screen out of stock effect: HTC Legend out of stock

According to reports, a report from a Canadian operator Bell recently showed that HTC Legend smartphones, which began selling in mid-June, are currently out of stock, probably due to the supply of insufficient AMOLED screens.

In this report, HTC Legend has been marked as End of life. Bell said that when the remaining HTC Legend sold out, they will not be providing the AMOLED smart screen, but will still sell Samsung Galaxy S phones that also use the AMOLED screen.

The report shows that HTC Legend has faced an embarrassing situation because it has been unable to solve the problem of insufficient supply of components. Although no specific components were specified, Samsung's AMOLED screen was widely speculated.

Previously, HTC has stated that starting from the end of this summer, Sony LCD SLCD (Super LCD) screens will be used in some models to replace the previously used AMOLED. This includes the current HTC Desire and Google Nexus One, and now HTC Legend seems to have joined the ranks.

Another carrier, Virgin Mobile, is currently unsure whether it will be affected. Before that, they have already raised the three-year contract price of HTC Legend from the previous 79.99 US dollars to 99.99 US dollars.
