Small GPS Micro Acoustic Filter for Automotive

TDK-EPC, a subsidiary of the TDK Group, introduced the EPCOS B4300 GPS filter, the first product in the latest EPCOS microsonic filter series. This GPS filter is certified by AEC-Q200 standard and currently has the smallest volume in the world (1.4 x 1.1 mm case size), which can adapt to the harsh environment of automotive electronic systems. In addition to its compact structure, another significant feature of this component is its excellent electrical performance. For example, the insertion loss is only 1 dB, and the stopband attenuation is also high. For interference from mobile phone bands, the attenuation can reach 45-50 dB.

Thanks to the adoption of CSSP® technology (ie "chip-size SAW packaging"), the new GPS filter structure is extremely compact. CSSP was first developed for mobile phones, and now the technology is further optimized to meet the high reliability requirements of the automotive industry. The pins of the new B4300 GPS filter are compatible with the existing GPS filter model pins used on mobile phones. In this way, developers can more easily use existing GPS handset solutions for automotive applications.

This GPS filter is the first representative product in the new range of SAW filter series for automotive information and communication systems, including GPS, Galileo and GLONASS navigation, and audio and data transmission based on GSM, CDMA and W-CDMA mobile technologies. Wait. In the future, the new series will be extended to all common frequency bands, including not only a single filter, but also two-in-one filters and duplexers based on the optimized CSSP packaging technology.

The term AEC: The Automotive Electronics Association, established in 1992, specifies the test standards for automotive electronic components. The AEC-Q200 standard applies to passive components.
Galileo: The Chinese translation of "Galileo" is a globally accurate European satellite navigation system similar to GPS and GLONASS. But unlike GPS and GLONASS, Galileo is not subject to any military controls.
GLONASS: Full name “Globalnaja Nawigazionnaja Sputnikowaja Sistema” is a satellite navigation system under the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation.
GPS: Global Positioning System, a global satellite navigation system that provides reliable position and time information. GPS has become the most important positioning technology in the world and is widely used in navigation systems.

The main applications are in automotive information and communication systems, such as navigation using GPS, Galileo and GLONASS, and audio and data transmission based on GSM, CDMA and W-CDMA mobile technologies.
