Intel: Failure of 6-series chipset does not affect China's marketing efforts

February 11 Beijing Report (Text / Liang Chin): This morning, Intel held a media conference in Beijing on the issue of the failure of the Intel 6 Series SATA port on the Cougar Point chipset before the Spring Festival.

Intel China-related spokesperson Zhang Wenyu said that after Intel's 6-series chipsets discovered a potential failure, Intel China actively communicated with global headquarters and conducted a series of effective measures.

Zhang Wenxuan informed the media of Intel's new progress on the issue. “The problems of the 6 series chips have been completely resolved in the updated version. The updated products will be available in late February and resume full capacity in April.”

US time January 31 (Beijing time on February 1), Intel issued a statement that Intel found that the recent launch of the Intel 6 Series chipset design flaws. In response to this, Intel has stopped shipping and actively communicates with industry partners and consumers, and has completed defect corrections and hardware upgrades.

In an interview with CNET Science and Technology Information Network, Zhang Wenxuan pointed out that "From the beginning to the present, Intel has been communicating with partners in a timely and effective manner to ensure that the interests of consumers are not affected."

When talking about whether the issue will affect the Intel brand, Zhang Wenxuan told CNET Technology Information Network, "Intel's marketing efforts for the second-generation intelligent Intel Core processors are still strong, Intel's commitment to the Chinese market and consumers as always There hasn't been any change in the promotion strategy, and the intensity has only been strengthened."

After the issue broke out, Intel stressed that it was not the second-generation Intel Core processor (codenamed Sandy Bridge) that had the problem itself but the corresponding chipset. At present, Intel has solved this problem. And emphasis on product quality is Intel's core strategy.

According to Zhao Jun, a senior architect of Intel China, the SATA port of the Intel 6 series chipset has 6 ports for connecting hard disks, DVD drives and other devices. The port 0-1 does not have any problem, but the endurance test shows that 2-5 ports will have a performance drop of about 5% after 2 or 3 years.

Zhao Jun said, "There are many OEM manufacturers just open the 0, 1 two ports, so there is no problem, but Intel has a responsible attitude towards partners and consumers, even if it is out of the box or not out of the box, you can Find Intel to exchange."
