The Hurricane Hurts never stops! The HTC Vive chief design goes to the embrace of Google.

The year off is more than a hovering wind! HTC Vive chief design defected to Google's embrace from Baidu VR

The year has passed, and the rushing wind has begun to rise again. First, Hugo Barra, former vice president of Xiaomi, jumped to Facebook to take charge of VR business. Today, HTC's chief designer, Claude Zellweger, is transitioning from PCVR to mobile VR.

Zellweger was also responsible for the design of HTC smartphones and ViveVR head-ups. He today announced at the San Francisco office that he will leave Taiwan HTC to join Google and be responsible for Daydrem business.

Today he released a new tweet saying, "We have joined GoogleDaydream now, and criticisms are not sent to me."

HTC also confirmed to the media that Zellweger had left the company and HTC stated in the statement: “We confirm that Claude Zellweger has left the company. We are grateful for his great contribution to HTC and hope that everything will be good in the future. HTC will continue to add Big investment in talent to ensure the company's overall competitiveness and cohesion."

Zellweger spent 5 years at HTC and was promoted to chief designer in 2014. He is also responsible for Vive's brand strategy. The departure of the chief designer of HTC seems to have become a "conventional": After HTC acquired the American design company One & Co, Scott Croyle and Jonah Becker among the three main members have long since left, leaving Claude Zellweger alone to support it.

Zellweger's departure is a bad news for HTCVive because Zellweger's focus in previous years has shifted to HTCVive. Before the Vive helmet entered the consumer market, Zellweger participated in the design research and several iterations of the product. Now that he has joined Google, past experience will surely help him design DaydreamView. At the same time, he is also very familiar with mobile hardware and may help accelerate the development of the Daydream platform.

From a professional point of view, Daydream has indeed made a right choice, especially for Google's head-ups who are often tempted.

Xiao Bian can only say: Your circle is too chaotic. But no matter who jumps, as long as it brings players the best VR device and awesome VR experience, then as a player, it will be supported and understood. Only HTC should be ready to deal with this sudden change!

Facebook's VR team Tim Tiger will! Millet former vice president to join

Changes at the top of the company are normal, but as the global social giant Facebook, every move can be eye-catching.

Recently, Facebook CEO Zuckerberg announced on his personal homepage that Hugo Barra, Xiaomi’s global vice president who had just left, formally joined Facebook. After joining Facebook, Hugo Barra will be responsible for the VR department and lead the Oculus team.

Zuckerberg said, "I have known Hugo for a long time and he has known since he helped develop the Android operating system. Over the past few years, he has worked for Xiaomi in Beijing and brought people many innovative devices."

Zuckerberg also stated that “Hugo and I share the same belief that virtual reality and augmented reality are the next generation of mainstream computing platforms. Virtual reality and augmented reality allow us to experience new things and make us more than ever Creativity Hugo will help us build the future, and I look forward to him joining our team."

Previously on January 23rd, Hugo Barra announced on his personal Twitter and Facebook homepage that due to health problems, he decided to leave from Xiaomi and return to Silicon Valley in the future. Barra said in the statement: "The last few years of living in such a unique environment have caused tremendous damage to my life and have begun to affect my health."

On August 29th, 2013, Xiaomi announced the dug-out of Google’s Vice President of Google Global, Vice President of Android Product, Hugo Barra, responsible for Xiaomi's international business development and strategic cooperation with Google Android.

Hugo Bara has been hailed as the "spokesperson" for Google's Android product line. Public information shows that he holds a master's degree in computer and electronic engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Prior to 2002, he worked for LOBBY7 and left the position of vice president of business development in 2003, where he entered voice technology company Nuance as product manager. In March 2008, he joined Google as the manager of Google’s UK mobile product division. Since then, Hugo Barra has been the product director of the Android team in 2010 and was promoted to vice president globally. The products he has been responsible for at Google include Google's many important business product lines such as mobile search, Google Maps mobile, voice search, vertical search, mobile advertising, and Android 4.0.

Hugo Barra mentioned that he had decided to leave Xiaomi due to health problems in Beijing. This can not help Xiaobian think, dare to love Xiaoza successfully dug Hugo Bara or trust the blessing of Beijing haze!
