The technical threshold of MPEG decoder chip is not high, the key is cost control problem, and the key to cost control is integration. There are few MPEG-2 vendors alone, and the current trend is to integrate MPEG-2 decoding into TV control ICs. Independent MPEG-2 decoding ICs are mainly targeted at the set-top box market. Manufacturers in this field include STMicroelectronics, ATI and Zoran in the US, Fujitsu in Japan, Leda in China, Sunplus, and Haier in mainland China.

4. Display the processing chip IC. Almost all Japanese manufacturers in the field have completed their own chip development. The companies that supply this chip to other manufacturers besides Japanese manufacturers include Gnesis, Pixelworks, Trident, STMicroelectronics, Micronas, Toshiba, NXP, ATI, Morningstar and MediaTek.
