The vulnerability allows attackers to gain unauthorized access to users' accounts and take control of connected smart devices, including not just robot vacuums but also refrigerators, microwaves, and dishwashers. Check Point has named this exploit "HomeHack," emphasizing the severity of the issue. With over 1 million Hom-Bot units sold globally, the potential impact of this vulnerability is significant.
