According to VR editors, AR Education has attracted millions of dollars in funding from Angel Capital due to its unique and diverse technology. This round of financing will primarily be used for brand promotion, intellectual property (IP) development, and expanding the team.
Founded in 2015, Chuangqu Technology is positioned as a three-dimensional AR education platform aimed at children's learning and entertainment. The company uses AR technology to bring children's books to life, combining content with interactive experiences. By integrating popular video IP images into traditional books, they create cross-media derivative content that enhances engagement. In addition to working with the "Rice Grain" brand, they have also signed a major film IP like "The Three Little Pigs," and are collaborating with publishers such as "Antarctic Bear" and "Our Planet."
With government policies promoting digital copyright integration in traditional publishing, AR has become a key trend in the industry. It allows for more dynamic teaching methods, enabling children to interact with virtual objects and games during learning. This not only satisfies their curiosity but also enriches their reading experience through immersive storytelling. Over the years, Chuangqu has built a strong foundation by focusing on content topics, managing children's book selection, developing an interactive system, and forming deep partnerships with publishers. Combined with reading pens, this approach transforms how children engage with books.
Unlike many domestic startups that rely on self-developed IPs—often difficult for users to recognize or value—Fun Network strategically partners with well-known IPs and publishers to secure digital rights. This approach highlights the growing importance of merging digital copyright with industry trends, which is expected to shape the future of the market.
Professor Xu Hongbo, chairman of Chuangda Capital, has long been interested in the digital publishing sector. He believes the industry is on the verge of a major breakthrough, potentially reaching a trillion-dollar market. With over 20 years of experience in the TMT industry and a background in tech giants like SUN and BEA, Xu has led investments in various promising ventures, including gift presentations, part-time cats, smart shopping, AI, and more. Since 2012, Chuangda Capital has focused on projects that combine science, technology, and culture to drive economic transformation.
Currently, Chuangda Capital invests in three main areas: consumption upgrades, foreign language education, and emerging technologies like AI, AR/VR, and blockchain. The firm has made strategic investments across the entire children’s education spectrum, from maternal care to preschool, K12, and beyond, aiming to build a comprehensive child education ecosystem.
Looking ahead, Zheng Hao, CEO of Fun Technology, aims to make the company the leading brand in children's AR books within five years. With the children's book market growing rapidly—showing a 9% CAGR and accounting for 16% of all book categories—the industry is poised for continued expansion, especially with favorable policies like the second-child initiative.
VR will continue to cover the investment and fundraising activities of domestic VR/AR companies. Stay tuned for more updates.
