Surprised by a small screw - PHILIPS Philips Lust + Display 256E7QDSA6

Thanks to Zhang Da Ma for giving me the opportunity to participate in this evaluation. Used some Philips products, the most impressive thing is to see the Philips CRT 15-inch display still in use at the friend's house. It seems that everything has been good for more than ten years. It gave me a lot of shock. In this information age, our work and life are almost inseparable from mobile phones and computers. A good (not flashing) screen will not only enhance our efficiency, but also bring me a good mood. Philips introduced this "Lust Second Generation" 256E7QDSA6 (hereinafter referred to as 256E), which is a flash-free, wide-gamut display. Of course, there are many other highlights. Let's see how it performs. how is it:

One, out of the box

The box is not small

Accessories include bracket base, power cord, VGA cable (no DP interface has been very sad, and actually do not send hdmai line) power adapter supports 19V and 1.84A current. It is worth mentioning that although the annex is very simple, but the entire wire material is still very good, there is a first-tier manufacturers should have the level of workmanship.

The weight of the bracket is about 285 grams. It is connected to the bracket and is fixed on the middle of the screw with handle. It is tool-free and can be easily loaded and unloaded with a coin of 1 corner. With 1 yuan, it will be blocked by slotting without smooth rotation. The weight of the monitor (without the base) is about 3.74 kilograms. It depends on this screw to take on such an important task. At the beginning, I still feel a little overhang, but after mounting it feels very stable.

The power supply section adopts a similar notebook power supply design. The power cord and adapter are 1.5 meters and 0.9 meters long respectively. This design is probably for convenience of maintenance and replacement, and the traditional integration behind the display has its advantages and disadvantages. One obvious disadvantage is that The length of the power adapter part is less than 1 meter. If the table is slightly higher, the power adapter can only be placed on the table, which will affect the perception.

Second, the appearance

The appearance of the monitor is very good, tearing the film off will give people a "fruit" monitor. This is an era in which everything is painted. An outstanding design can undoubtedly add a lot to a monitor. The simplest example is the Apple desktop computer monitor when many manufacturers are still doing dark computer, Apple has always insisted Silver White matched, for many years past, we now look at the computer monitor color, have to admit that Apple does go To the front. A good design of the monitor as a computer can undoubtedly add a lot to the computer. At the same time, it can also be used as a home decoration to upgrade the study room or living room. Therefore, the design of a monitor with a beautiful avant-garde is very important.

The function of a monitor is to display, and the input interface of the display device also determines how many input devices it can be compatible with. Philips 256E has three input interfaces, namely HDMI, DVI-D and VGA interface, there is a HDMI audio output interface, HDMI interface also supports MHL function, but the new mobile phone in these two years seems to no longer support this feature, and personal Feel that this feature is rarely used on computer monitors.

The Philips 256E is characterized by the use of only a five-dimensional navigation key, and placed on the bottom right behind the fuselage, so that the guarantee of the integrity of the proof. Philips called this button Easy Select easy-to-select button, this button is indeed easy to use during use: long press the switch machine, dial up to switch the display signal source, left and right dial directly call out menu can be quickly set, easy to operate Get started quickly.

(Note: Philips mentioned in the advertising: game mode, document mode, movie mode, not seen in the settings of this machine, left dial out the "SmartImage" menu, only provide standard, Internet, game three Choice, detailed in the details later)

Philips 256E monitor is designed for the finishing touch in the middle of the crystal LOGO, in the middle of the bottom of the display there is a crystal of LOGO nameplate whole workmanship is very fine, people will be able to identify the brand display, but unfortunately did not With light, it is recommended to learn mouse light factory, to a 800,000 RGB Symphony backlight.

The 256E in the lower left represents the size and model of the monitor. The 25-inch display is a special size. Compared to 23, 23.6 inches, the visible area is enlarged by 179 square centimeters by a slight change of 1.4 inches in the diagonal. It shows more pictures and more detailed details. It has good results for game entertainment and office use.

23-inch vs. 25-inch (more on the back)

The blue energy star logo in the lower right corner indicates that this monitor can achieve excellent energy-saving labels. According to official sources, the Philips 256E consumes an average of 18.29 W of power. Philips 256E uses a borderless ID design, in the state of the screen can hardly see any border, only a white frame around 1mm, this design is very good to please the user's visual sense, but also very avant-garde. If it's not a sticker, it's hard to notice that Philips put a layer of panel film on it.

The screen of the Philips 256E is actually bordered when the screen is on. The measured value is about 8.6mm, and the width of the border is also quite narrow compared to the entire 25-inch display, and the visual experience is not bad.

The thickness of the display is only less than 1.7cm. Although the display is not thin enough, it is still relatively good compared to the same price display products. At the same time, it is worth mentioning here is the craft, black and white panda color to make this monitor color coordination is very coordinated, the intersection of two different materials and seams almost no glitches are visible, Philips 256E's process is still very good.

In the monitor angle adjustment support -5 to 20 degree angle adjustment, this range is also sufficient to meet our daily home and office angle requirements.

Third, boot experience

After seeing the design and workmanship, in fact, we are most concerned about is how it looks Philips 256E, after all, just as a monitor for the appearance of a vase, a good design and a good workmanship must be able to bring good to the user Experience, and the display effect among these experiences is the most important. First, there is no problem with the viewing angle of the AH-IPS wide-angle panel, and no obvious color shift occurs at any angle.

This time I specially invited folk artifacts "red spider 5" to help out the evaluation, the first two monitors start to use more than one hour, measure the maximum brightness found Philips 256E can reach nearly terror 500cd / cm² (sorry, was very excited Forget the screenshot), and my DELL U2312H only 170cd/cm2, high brightness on the screen to enhance the display has some help, of course, there will be shortcomings, long-term high brightness state of vision damage.

After twenty minutes of waiting, the report obtained shows that, although there are deviations from the official parameters (which may also be instrumental errors), the Philips 256E 100% sRGB, 81% NTSC and 87% AdobeRGB are already better than most of their peers. LED display too. (The picture shows the comparison of Philips 256E and Dell U2312H. The result of the other Dell P2412H is basically the same as 2312H.)

The value does not represent everything. Next, the picture is compared with the display of the DELL U2312H (left) and the Philips 256E (right). (Note: 1. The screen will inevitably lose some of the image quality, and there is a certain gap between the actual display effect. 2. DELL U2312H can not directly adjust the color temperature, while the Philips 256E default color temperature is 6500K, adjustable 9300K; so both monitors are used Factory setting and brightness adjusted to the highest contrast

Pure black contrast, U2312H (left) more light leaks make the whole screen look a bit brighter, and Philips 256E left a little bit of light leakage, but the entire backlight uniformity is still very high, showing that Philips LED backlight technology has been very mature.

Really macro shooting of the screen, real shot through the screen, also confirmed the IPS panel of the monitor.

2. Grayscale comparison, Philips 256E (right). Grayscale is the brightness level relationship between the darkest black to the brightest white of the display. The contrast between brightness and darkness and black and white color transition shows that the clearer the image, the better the transition is. Through the actual shooting of 256 gray scales, Philips 256E performance is more specific and intuitive, with a wide range of gray and white contrast, a high contrast ratio, and it is more transparent, giving the user a better feeling.

3. Pure color contrast, Philips 256E (right). Thanks to the high brightness of the Philips 256E, the screen looks more comfortable.

4. Comparison of scenery proofs, Philips 256E (right). Under the default settings, the color temperature of the Philips 256E is relatively warm, with a higher contrast ratio and a more transparent appearance.

5. Portrait comparison, Philips 256E (right). The details of the dark parts of the character are expressed, and the contrast of the entire real effect is higher, giving the impression of being more transparent and more three-dimensional. This is due to its use of AH-IPS panel and the exclusive use of Philips SmartContrast technology, SmartImageLite technology capable of displaying content on the screen analysis can be enhanced dynamic contrast, color saturation and sharpness of image of the video, so that the display The best results.

It is not difficult to see from the comparison of the three groups of screen shots that although the Philips 256E positioning thousand-grade display is not high-end, the performance of the entire color is very good. During the entire experience, although playing games and playing videos for a long time, in order to evaluate also seen a lot of proofs of the display test, but do not feel visual fatigue, which also benefits from Philips 256E does not flash display technology .

Fourth, SmartImage

The previously mentioned left-aligned SmartImage settings: standard, internet, games. After repeated comparisons, the difference between "standard" and "Internet" is relatively small. From the menu settings, it is only the difference in brightness settings. The "Internet" brightness is slightly lower than "standard"; and when "game" is selected, the setting changes are more Large, SmartResponse (1 millisecond response) is set to fast, smart contrast is turned on, and the color is set to "Red, Green, Blue" all 100. Into the FPS game experience, I feel more likely to find small changes in the picture, identify the dark corner in the "hole pit er", used in this mode and then back in DELL U2312H, there is a kind of indescribable bad mood, I feel a bit slow, It may be the changes brought about by adapting the SmartResponse function.

Fifth, power consumption and temperature

As we all know, the power consumption of the display is proportional to the brightness, the brightness is set to 32 when the Philips 256E "standard" mode is set to 32 (personal favorite night room brightness) power consumption is 13.81W, when the brightness rises to 50 is 15.28W, the brightness reaches 100 is 19.12W; under the “game” mode, it can be said that the display firepower is fully on, and the power consumption is 20.09W at this time.

By comparison of temperature measurements (more than two hours after the monitor is turned on, the room temperature is about 29°C), it is guessed that the DELL U2312H (left) is a circle around the screen to provide backlight because the temperature around the screen is generally around 38 degrees Celsius. Philips 256E fever mainly concentrated in the bottom of the screen, it is estimated that the use of a row of LED backlight design below.

Sixth, summary

In the high-definition screen, and even more 4K screen display now, Philips 256E resolution still maintains 1080P not talk about high-end, but the current 1080P resolution display is still the current mainstream. The positioning of the Philips 256E is not in this sense but it is practical. In addition to Philips' unique display technology and the fact that it does not flash, the user's health is undoubtedly more realistic. The excellent display effect of wide color gamut and high brightness also undoubtedly has certain advantages in the same level of display products. As a monitor in addition to looking at the screen also depends on the design, after all, a look of high value can also give your study, living room to increase grades. Philips 256E is such a product - high value, good color and rare price to achieve the price close to the people, but the lack of expansion of the interface is relatively conservative.

Although I'm used to the DELL monitor's rich interface, I feel a little inconvenient now, but after several days of Philips 256E use, I think my DELL U2312H can be repaid to the old man playing mahjong at home to play Solitaire.

Seventh, suggestion

1. I hope to receive a DVI-D or HDMI monitor cable later.

2. The manufacturer is requested to promptly modify the copy of the SmartImage function or issue an upgrade patch to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings.
