Cree has introduced a new LED module, the LMR4 (as shown). The company described the product as "a new product" designed to accelerate the adoption of LED lighting modules by traditional lighting fixture manufacturers and to shorten the time available for new LED lighting fixtures.
Cree's LED module LMR4 integrates drive electronics, optics and thermal management.
In addition, Cree uses silicon carbide wafers and LED chips; LED packages consist of single or multiple LEDs; LED lighting fixtures; and now LED modules.
The LMR4 has a service life of up to 35,000 hours and consumes only 12 watts. When the warm white color temperature is 2700K and the color rendering index (CRI) is greater than 90, the luminous flux of the LMR4 can reach 700lm.
Lamp manufacturers can choose a specially designed heat sink to suit specific high-heat applications, such as ceiling downlights for insulation.
LMR4 (120V) has obtained UL certification, and LMR4 (230V) also meets many international standards.
The LED module uses Cree's TrueWhite technology, which has been used in Cree's LED lighting fixtures. Cree's Chairman and CEO Chuck Swoboda said, "Cree's TrueWhite technology lighting products have been used in thousands of locations, including restaurants, retail stores, and other venues that demand high quality light sources and energy efficiency. â€
Cree's LED module LMR4 is expected to be available in summer 2010.
