Some commentators believe that Samsung's cooperation with Qualcomm means that they have grabbed Qualcomm's 10nm chip orders from TSMC. However, "Bloomberg" pointed out that the competition between Samsung and TSMC will allow Apple to enjoy a more favorable bargaining advantage when negotiating future supply contracts with the supply chain, which will give them the upper hand in bargaining.
According to TSMC's plan, the company's 10nm process chip will be shipped in the first quarter of 2017, which is slightly later than Samsung. But TSMC is not worried about this, they think that in the process of competing for Apple A11 chip orders will force Samsung. Moreover, TSMC's 7nm process is already in the pipeline, and about 20 customers have adopted their 7nm process. The new process chip reservation will be trial production in the second half of 2017 and will be officially shipped in 2018.
