The Comcast experience was grandly opened on June 6, 2008 at the Comcast Center in Philadelphia. The recordable LED screen wall contains Barco's 6,771 NX-4 LED modules. The Comcast Experience LED Screen Wall is located in the breathtaking 7-story glass hall, a collaboration between Comcast and the Free Real Estate Trust to the Philadelphia people, blending sculpture, architecture and technology in a glamorous public environment.
From a technical point of view, the Comcast experience is the world's largest 4 mm LED screen wall, 83.3 feet wide and 25.4 feet high (25.38 x 7.74 meters), consisting of 6,771 Barco NX-4 LED modules. The seamless arrangement of 10 million LED display pixels gives it a superb true performance, which is equivalent to five times the resolution of HDTV.
The LED screen wall features a full range of Barco's high-end image processing equipment, including six DX-700 LED video processors, seven Encore widescreen video processors and three MatrixPRO video switching matrices.
